This exclusive tea variety is among the most refined and most expensive Japanese teas. As soon as the new leaf buds appear, the tea plants are covered with reed mats and dark nets. As a result, the leaves receive very little light, so they do not contain many tannins and have a milder flavor than the other green teas. The beautiful, flat, pointed, emerald green needles impart a mild flavor and subtle fragrance.
